Graphic artists make their Digital Collectibles debuts with IDG

Daniel Resende and Will Rios just debuted in the digital collectibles world through a partnership with IDG. These two renowned Brazilian artists – one in drawing and another in animation – have worked to create Digital Collectibles of Brazilian football legend, Reinaldo, an Atlético MG idol to this day. 

"This is the first time I've seen my illustrations as Digital Collectibles. It is a new experience and, without a doubt, a promising way to exhibit my work. I started by creating illustrations for the Richarlison Digital Collectible collection. Now I've expanded the work and developed new illustrations for Reinaldo's – one of my football idols – Digital Collectible collection," explains Will Rios, an Atlético Mineiro fan.

The artist says he previously created the cards of the Tottenham center-forward in a comic-strip style with bold details representing movement. "As for Reinaldo, the idea was to write a narrative. Three illustrations resembled movie posters. Two of them were produced digitally, and I made one by hand," says Will Rios. 

Daniel Resende, from his side, produced animations for Reinaldo's Digital Collectibles collection and, like Will Rios, is excited to see his work associated with digital collectibles. "I loved the result. It is a path that takes our work to other media and platforms," he believes. Resende reproduced the highlights of Reinaldo's career goals, working on average between 6 and 7 hours to generate each of the 10-second animations that make up the Digital Collectibles.

"It's a long process. I create different art for each frame, and I always start by drawing the players until I finish with the rest of the art", he explains. Daniel Resende focuses on football but has already made animations for other sports like wrestling, skateboarding, and surfing.
